What Exactly Is Tile Reglazing?
Many people have heard of bathtub reglazing, but they do not know what tile reglazing is. It is very similar. The reglazing process involves sanding down the surface of your tiles and then applying primers and other products to create a new surface or glaze on the tiles themselves.
Can I Repaint My Bathroom Tiles Myself?
You could, but it is not a good idea. Tile reglazing is not a DIY process, even though it may seem like it is or even though there are kits on the market. It is always recommended that a professional refinishing company handle your tile refinishing project to ensure the best results.
Inexperienced refinishers who reglaze your tiles can cause more damage to them, or you may find that the glaze on your tiles starts to peel and wear away very quickly after the project is completed. DIY kits can lead to similar negative results if you do not know what you are doing.
Will You Repair the Tiles That Are Damaged, or Do I Need to Replace Those?
We will repair them. You do not have to worry about replacing any of your tiles during the tile resurfacing project. Our refinishers are able to repair stains, cracks, scratches, chips, and dents on your tiles. In general, most damage done to your tiles can be repaired through the resurfacing process.
My Tile Grout Looks Horrible – Can You Help?
Yes, we can. Grout around your tiles will naturally wear down over time and you may notice that it is missing, cracked, or stained and discolored. If your tile’s grout is damaged or stained in any way, our refinishers will remove the existing grout and re-grout the tiles for you.
I Hate the Color of My Tiles! Am I Stuck with Them?
No. At Connecticut Reglazing, we can repaint your tiles in a variety of different colors.
Are There a Lot of Strong Fumes During the Tile Reglazing?
No, not really. If your bathroom has a window, we will utilize it to remove the fumes that are created during the process. If your bathroom does not have a window, we will utilize a nearby window to remove the fumes created.
There is a possibility that there may be a slight smell during the process and for a few hours afterward, but this smell should not be strong and will completely dissipate in a few hours.
How Do I Properly Care for My Newly Refinished Tiles?
Proper care of your newly reglazed tiles is important to ensure that they last for many years. You should clean your tiles regularly to prevent a buildup of grime or soap scum on them. To clean them, you should NEVER use harsh or abrasive cleaners such as Comet or bleach. You also want to AVOID the use of rough or scrubbing sponges as they may scratch the tile surface.
We recommend that you use soft sponges or microfiber cloths to clean your tiles. We also recommend that you use cleaning agents such as 409 all-purpose cleaner, Mr. Clean, or Simple Green. These products are considered safe for reglazed tiles.
Can I Use My Tiles Immediately After Reglazing?
No. You will need to allow your tiles to dry before you use them. It is recommended that you do NOT use your bathroom tiles for 24 hours. After this time, you can safely use the tiles. It is important that NO water come in contact with your freshly reglazed tiles before 24 hours have passed to prevent damage.
How Much Money Will Tile Reglazing Save Me?
Tile reglazing in Connecticut is considered to be very affordable and will save you quite a bit of money over choosing to have the tiles replaced. At Connecticut Reglazing, we work hard to keep our pricing as competitive as possible. To have your tub and tiles reglazed, our price starts at $975. Can My Bathtub and Tiles Be Reglazed at the Same Time?
Yes! In fact, if you have a tub and tiles that are both outdated, damaged, or simply in need of a makeover, we recommend that you have both completed at the same time.
How Long Will It Take You to Repaint My Tiles?
In general, you can expect our refinishers to complete the tile repainting process in about 2 to 6 hours. The exact time it takes them to finish depends on how much repair work is needed, whether the grout needs to be redone, and the size of the shower stall or space to have the tile repainting completed. Do note that all of our tile repainting services are completed on the SAME day.
Does Connecticut Reglazing Offer a Warranty?
